It’s always a pleasure doing business with all of you. Melanie has been fantastic. She is very diligent in sending us duly updates and pictures of Bentley and Mercedes. She seems to take pride in the pet sitting she provides and genuinely seems to care for our animals! The house was as clean as when we left. Again, Melanie has done a fantastic job! 5/5 for overall satisfaction. If I could give a 6 I would, but the rating is only to 5. “As you know we were dealing with a new puppy and lots of overnight breaks and we were not comfortable taking him to a kennel. Thank goodness for your diligent search and perseverance. Fortunately, Nash slept more than we anticipated. Cheyenne was amazing. Photos, messages and a daily detailed list of all activities (good and bad) from Nash and Peipur. We could not have been happier. She followed our guidelines with Nash and gave him time-outs when he was misbehaving. It was an absolute success for our babies. Peipur got tons of loves and cuddles. We could not have been happier!!!”
“First we would like to thank you so much for the flowers! Secondly we want you to know how much we appreciated very thing that Mary did for Bella including being with her at the end. That was something we will forever be grateful for. We recognize it was above and beyond and anything Mary needed to do. Knowing Bella was not alone in the end eased our grief especially being so far away. It has been very strange to return to an empty home. Although she had been ill we were very much taken by surprise as we had taken Bella to the vet twice prior to our leaving and we were assured that she was in good health minus her arthritis. Mary was truly a gift for us and Bella. Both times that we have used While Away the experience has been amazing. Thank you for what you do and the wonderful people that you find to look after the four legged members of our family. We did tell Mary how much we appreciated everything that she did but we wanted to ensure that you also knew just what a special person we think she is.”
“When I leave town, I leave very confidently knowing that my pets and my house will be well taken care of. It is such a relief having someone who I trust to take care of things. And, the staff at While Away has gone beyond the “call of duty” numerous times for us. My Golden Retriever was quite elderly and they gave her much tender care in giving her medications and “loving on her.” When she got to the point that it was too hard for her to go for long walks, they would take her outside and gently play with her. While Away gives me such peace of mind when I have to travel.”

“While Away has provided exceptional care for our home and our pets, a dog and 3 guinea pigs, on many occasions. The house/pet sitters are very responsible and they go above and beyond to care for the home and animals. We have returned to find our flower beds weeded, the guinea pig cages cleaned, the house vacuumed and dusted. All of these were done simply because a mature, self-motivated, member of the While Away team wanted to keep busy while staying at our home. We would recommend While Away to anyone who is looking for a house/pet sitter.”
“We have been a client of While Away since 2001 and would recommend this service to anyone who has a pet(s). Our cats are happier in their own environment and love the people who take care of them while we are on vacation. The owners of the company are superb. Our vacation plans are always accommodated even if the owner has to come by and look in on the cats. This service also covers our insurance requirements to have someone look in on the place while we are on vacation. While Away also offered the service of snow removal and cutting our grass (for a fee of course). We cannot say enough about their service and accountability. We have never been let down!”

“Oh, you all are a ten! My two cats, though lonely when I’m on vacation, do not have the stress of traveling to the kennel (or even getting into their car carriers and having to live with other cats. They actually seem more bonded when I return, having planned various ways to “get back” at me. And rather than the stress of picking them up at the kennel, forcing them into the carriers again, and a 30 minute drive, I come in the door and have them jump on me and we have a joyous reunion. That really means a lot to me. Also, knowing that someone is checking my home is reassuring too. They are in good hands with your company. Your fees, though higher than a kennel for the two, are comparable because I don’t have them checked every day (every other day depending on the length of trip, with the odd two-days-in-a-row just to keep them happy).“
